ESCOM Power Plants Engineering Services Company was founded in January 2007 by Mech. Eng. S. YILMAZ in Turkey.
ESCOM initially proved its professional quality and specialization in the sector with the successful job of power plant relocation, transport, re-erection, supervision, commissioning, operation and maintenance projects, which is carried out by its own team under the difficult conditions of Northern Iraq in Suleymaniyah, being the first in the world without the support of main suppliers and mnaufacturers.
The milestones of ESCOM, which is now hiring 12 qualified engineers and 28 expert technicians and presenting continious growth, can be listed as follows;
• January 2007 Establihment of ESCOM
• 2 x 12V32/40 BIRKO Power Plant
• 3 x 18V32/40 SANKO Power Plant
• 7 x 16V32/40 PARK Energy Power Plant
• 2 x 18V48/60 IZMIR HABAŞ Power Plant
• 1 x 18V48/60 BILECIK HABAŞ Power Plant
• 2 x 18V48/60 BIRLIK Power Plant
• 4 x 18V48/60 + 3x18VMB30 BATMAN Power Plant
• 2 x 9L58/64 KIPAS Power Plant
• 2 x 9L58/64 GULSAN Power Plant
For unplanned-planned maintenances, supervision, troubleshooting, spare parts ordering, etc.
Due to economical reasons, Power Plants stopped at 2005-2006 in Turkey, and he was assigned to work in MAN Diesel Istanbul in Shipyards as a Commissioning Engineer,
Meanwhile, three power plants BIRKO PP with 2 x 12V32/40, BIRLIK PP with 2 x 18V48/60 and BATMAN PP with 4x18V48/60 have been bought by ORASCOM / Egyptian Company to relocate them to N. Iraq / Suleymaniyah, he was assigned by MAN Diesel to supervise all Maintenance /Preservation / Dismantling / Packing / Labeling / Loading processes as a MAN Diesel SE Supervisor.
Eng. YILMAZ quit MAN Diesel SE after dismantling works of related Power Plants finished at the end of 2006 and founded his own ESCOM Company, employed the best engineers and technicians who were working in Power Plants in Turkey and signed a contract with Egyptian ORASCOM CI for Erection / Supervision / Commissioning works of these relocated Power Plants from Turkey to N. Iraq.
• February 2007 REFURBISHMENT CONTRACT with ORASCOM CI. 4 x18V48/60 MAN DIESEL ENGINES in Iraq, Suleymaniyah, Bazian
Refurbishment works started at Febr.2007 with 9 employees and finished 4x 18V48/60 engines for Bazyan Cement Factory and 2x12V32/40 engines for Tasluja Cement Factory re-erection / maintenance / re-assembling / supervision / commissioning works at 01.2008 with 38 employees within 11 months.
These two relocation projects were the first projects in the world which a Private Company which could do all erection & supervision & commissioning works alone without any support from the main suppliers like MAN, SIEMENS, KUHSE, ABB, Alfa Laval, Aalborg, etc. under difficult conditions of Iraq.
• September 2007 OPERATION & MAINTENANCE CONTRACT with LAFARGE for BAZYAN PP (4x18v48/60), Iraq, Suleymaniyah, Bazian
Since 09.2007, we as ESCOM after refurbishment works finished, signed O&M Contract with Lafarge Co. to operate and maintain Bazyan Power Plant with 4 x18V48/60 operated in island operation.
• February 2008 SUPERVISION & COMMISSINONING CONTRACT with LAFARGE for TASLUJA PP (2 x 12V32/40) MAN DIESEL ENGINES, Iraq, Suleymaniyah, Tasluja
Meanwhile, Power Plants and Cement Factories which belong to ORASCOM were bought by LAFARGE/French Co. We signed a Contract with LAFARGE to supervise and commission their Tasluja Power Plant with 2 x12V32/40 MAN DIESEL Engines.
• February 2008 OPERATION & MAINTENANCE CONTRACT with LAFARGE for Tasluja PP (2 x 12V32/40) MAN DIESEL ENGINES, Iraq, Suleymaniyah, Tasluja
• CONTRACT with MAN DIESEL SE for SUPERVISORY WORKS in ATLAS Power Plant (11x18V48/60 MAN Diesel Engine + 16 MW Steam Turbine) in PAKISTAN,01.2009,
After this amazing successful relocation works which was realized by ESCOM high skilled Engineers and Technicians within a very short time especially in Iraq, became an important milestone to prove our capabilities, and to take a good reference from ORASCOM / MAN / LAFARGE, and to sign a Contract with MAN DIESEL SE for Supervisory Services at ATLAS POWER PLANT which is the biggest project of MAN in the world with 2 groups x 11x18V48/60 (230MWh) Man Diesel Engines + 16 MWh Steam Turbine in Pakistan. Since February 2009, we have assigned 4 x Supervisor Engineers and 4 x Supervisor Technicians to support MAN Staff in Pakistan.
• FRAME CONTRACT with MAN DIESEL SE for SUPERVISORY WORKS for future projects in S.ARABIA, YEMEN, SUDAN, AFGHANISTAN, etc.
Additionally, we as ESCOM have already agreed principally on a Frame Contract with MAN DIESEL SE for the future projects in S. Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Pakhistan, Afghanistan etc. The Frame Contract is ready to sign.
